Africa
When I think of Africa I think of several things that are all extremely different and diverse. The first thing that comes to mind is its geography. I picture flat desert land, lush forests, humidity, warmth, rainy, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, the equator and many other geographical features. The second thing that comes to mind is the people. I think of many different groups of people from small African tribes, corrupt African leaders, slaves/workers, and regular citizens. This shows that Africa is a very diverse continent due to its geography and the fact that it is the second largest. I also think about the problems within Africa. There is a lot of poverty, corruption, death, disease, working limitations, child soldiers, guerrilla warfare, and also a lack of water. Thinking of the problems I link my thoughts back to my home country, the United States of America, and I think about the focus we have on Africa and the events that have taken place in order to better their situations such as Live Aid/8 and the homing developments that many people travel to Africa to work on. When I think of Africa a lot of questions come to my mind as well like why is their so much poverty, why are the underdeveloped, what makes them a third world country, why is their a war in the country, who was Africa influenced by?
